A ten-day gathering in Pelion, Greece for filmmakers, programmers, critics, artists, producers, and others engaged with contemporary independent cinema.
Created as an alternative to the speed and isolation of the film industry, the Circle brings together a small international group for screenings, shared meals, focused work, and long-form conversation within the landscape of Pelion.
Rather than a conference or traditional residency, Pelion Circle functions as a temporary creative community, one built around proximity, sustained exchange, and the belief that meaningful artistic relationships are formed slowly, through time spent together.
Participants come from different parts of the film ecosystem, allowing conversations to move naturally between artistic practice, criticism, programming, production, and the evolving realities of independent cinema. Emerging and established voices share the same space, with equal emphasis placed on curiosity, generosity, experimentation, and cultural contribution.
Set between mountain villages and the Aegean coast, Pelion itself shapes the rhythm of the gathering: creating distance from urgency and offering space to reconnect with cinema as both an art form and a collective cultural practice.

We invite applications from people working across contemporary independent film culture.
Submissions can take any form: films, fragments, scripts, notes, treatments, images, sound, references, research, unfinished work, conversations, obsessions, or ideas still looking for their final shape.
We are not looking for perfected projects. We are looking for distinct voices, thoughtful practices, and people interested in cinema as a living cultural form.
